Republic of Korea, Resident Registration Act

Those who have chosen a place of residence, different from the permanent residence, to stay longer than 90 days in such place, are required to register the Temporary Resident Register. The purpose of the Act is to promote the convenience of residents’ livelihoods and to properly process administrative affairs by clearly ascertaining the residential status of residents and the movement of the population through the registration of residents.
