On the sidelines of the 9th Committee on Statistics in Bangkok, countries had a chance to share transformative work and strategies they have been implementing towards strengthening CRVS and UNICEF presented on the new global birth registration estimates. It was noted that mobile registration units have significantly improved access to CRVS services for remote communities. In addition to that, an Inequality Assessment of the CRVS system have been conducted, leading to recommendations to addressing challenges faced by indigenous populations to ensure inclusivity.
