Reporting to ESCAP
To monitor implementation of the Regional Action Framework, ESCAP member and associate member States, have agreed to provide regular reports on progress towards achieving each of the 15 targets. In addition to informing on national progress, regional reports on actions to improve CRVS will enable enhanced knowledge-sharing, regional cooperation and learning, and the identification of opportunities for collaboration.
In October 2015, members and associate members were sent a request for a report on their national targets and baseline data. In order to facilitate the compilation of information, Guidelines for setting and monitoring the goals and targets were provided to the countries. All inputs provided fed into a regional synthesis report which was presented to the Commission during its seventy second session in May 2016.
To provide an overview of the situation of CRVS systems in the region, it was decided to produce a similar report to feed the midterm review of the CRVS Decade for action. A midterm questionnaire was sent in August 2019 to the members and associate members, aiming to assess their progress on the path to Get Everyone in the Picture. Questions from national CRVS focal points and answers on the report have been compiled to assist countries.
Information on midterm data will be made available alongside national targets and baseline data under the country profiles.
45 countries have submitted their reports so far. Examples of reports are available here.
